Guild Rules, Regulations and Important Info:
What is Retribution? RETRIBUTION: 1. Punishment inflicted in the spirit of moral outrage or personal vengeance.
Founded upon the triune principles of family-type bonds, game enjoyment, and personal excellence, Retribution is a group of tight-knit people that seek to explore all aspects of World of Warcraft without a rabid devotion to all-night raiding and everyday zerg festivals. We will remain true to one another and to our mission of honing our individual skills to their very utmost so that we can advance through WoW with the satisfaction of knowing that advancement was earned through teamwork and shared spirit. We will always stress quality over quantity. We value people above loot. We value unity above self-aggrandizement. We value fealty above indifference. We value tactics above blind force. These are the values that we hold true.
The guild is comprised of many different people, each bringing unique and valuable skills to the whole. We come from a varied background of different guilds, where the need to find something which fit our own ideas of game-play were not fulfilled. Our friendships drove us together to form something new.
Raiding Retribution is a 10 player raiding guild that considers itself casual and laid back in our approach to the game but serious when it comes to raiding. Raiders are expected and required to put forth the maximum effort that they can muster when it comes to raiding. Outside of raiding, all guild members are encouraged to work and communicate with each other to create an enjoyable experience.
Structure of Retribution Retribution has a set rank structure that allows the guild leadership to quickly identify who is ready to raid and who is eligible to receive loot in a raiding environment.
Members: The “Member” rank is designed for friends and family players, those who know a raider in the guild. It is also for Raiders who either cannot commit to a raid schedule or who no longer wish to raid but would like to still play with others in the guild. All members are entitled to become Raid Members if a raid position is available and they can show that they are able to maintain our raid schedule. Members are also encouraged to participate on the forums, in Off Night raids/battlegrounds, and are allowed to vote on any issue brought up unrelated to raiding.
Evals: “Evals” are new members to the guild who are interested in becoming Raid Members. Each Eval will spend at least 30 days in a probation like period where they will be graded on skill, raid attendance and attitude. When the probation period has been completed each Raid Member will have the option to vote to promote the player to Raid Member, Kick from the guild, extend the probation time, or keep the player as a member.
Raid Members: Raid Members are core members of our guild who raid on a consistent basis. Raid Members are expected to perform on a comparable level to their peers and to reliably show up to raids. Raid Members are entitled to certain items from the guild bank for free(Gems/Glyphs/Enchants) or at a significantly reduced price. Raid Members are entitled to cast votes on any matter having to due with the operation of the guild and/or raiding. Raid Members that are unable to perform up to the standard or do not raid on a consistent basis will be demoted to member. Those looking to raid again as a Raid Member will need to have at least 70% raid attendance for at least 30 days and have the approval of an Officer.
Officers: Officers are the leadership of the guild and handle all administrative aspects of the guild and ensure that the guild runs efficiently. Each Officer has a specific responsibility and any Officer that is found lacking in his or her duties will be asked to step down. Any Officer can initiate a vote to demote another Officer (with just cause) and a majority vote will be required by the rest of the leadership to demote an Officer.
Forum Access and Etiquette Access to the guild forum is a privilege and not a right. The Officers will do our best to ensure that each guild member who creates an account on the forums has the proper permissions. If you feel that you are missing certain permissions, speak to an Officer.
All members are encouraged to participate on the guild forums, however a certain level of maturity is expected. As stated before, the guild forums is a privilege and not a right!
Friends and Family Friends and family are always welcome in the guild. All guild members except Evals may bring any person into the guild. The friend or family member will be given “member” status with all its privileges but is expected to act accordingly. Any family member may attempt to become a Raid Member but will be required to go through the Eval process.
Current Officers and their Duties Dirtykarl-Guild Leader -Leads progression (10 Man) raids. -Researches and posts information and tactics for individual boss fights.
Bareass-Raiding Officer -Leads progression (10 Man) raids. -Monitors and addresses raid performance issues -Ensures guild bank is supplied with raid essential materials.
Evilwood-Bank Officer -Controls the guild bank. -Ensures guild bank is supplied with raid essential materials.
Guild Policy on Ventrillo Ventrillo is a tool that we use to make raiding and playing with guild members easier. Your access to “Vent” is a privilege not a right. During raids a certain level of respect is expected of everyone in the channel. While talking and joking is encouraged, when it is time to buckle down and kill bosses keep your mouth shut unless you NEED to say something.
Please refrain from calling a “wipe” during a 10 man raid. Raid leaders will assess the situation and determine if the raid should wipe or continue with the current attempt.
Retribution has no problems with its members sharing out vent information as long as anyone who joins is respectful. Failure to abide by the above rules or misuse of vent will result in action. Just for clarification, the word action in the previous sentence means you will be banned from our Vent server.
Loot Distribution Retribution uses a simple “roll” system to determine loot. Each player who is interested in an item will roll for it. Priority will be given based on rank and whoever has the highest roll wins.
Priority for loot is based off of the simple rule: Raid Members>Evals>Members>Alts. This system allows Raid Members, those who have been around the longest to obtain loot, but still gives the new guy a chance to pick up new items. Officers may on occasion decide to reward a certain player with a piece of gear regardless of who won the roll.
When a boss is killed, all players in the raid are expected to refrain from speaking on Vent and in raid chat. The loot master will announce the item in raid chat. Anyone who is interested in the item will roll for it and the Officers will determine who gets the item. If the item is not rolled for, it will be up for an Off Spec roll, if no one wants the loot for either spec it will be disenchanted.
Limited quest items (i.e. Legendary Items/Keying Items) will be distributed by the officers. Officers will base who gets the item on attendance and time in the guild. If a player does not want a quest item, they may pass and the item will be awarded to the next person eligible.
Any Bind on Equip items obtained in a raid will be given out like any other loot. If no player wants the gear it will be put in the guild bank and sold to players at 50% of the AH price OR it will be put on the AH.
All rare/uncommon items will be given to the guild dis-enchanter to stock the bank.
Raid Time All Raid Members and Evals are expected to NOT be saved to any raid that is on our current schedule. Retribution currently raids the following days:
Tuesday 8-12EST Thursday 8-12EST
Forming Raids Retribution currently uses the in game calendar to setup raids. Each raid will be posted a few days in advance and it is expected that every Raid Member and Eval respond to the best of their ability as to whether they can attend or not. Invites will go out 15 minutes prior to raid time and all players attending are expected to be ready to go.
In the event that there are more players online than spots in the raid, players will be rotated in and out as best as possible to accommodate players loot wish lists while minimizing downtime. Priority for invites is as follows: Raid Member=Eval>Member>Alt. Raid Members that log in late will not be given priority over a competent Eval in the raid.
If a player disconnects and is unable to be contacted or is having issues that is preventing them from performing adequately in a raid, they will be replaced.
Deaths in Raids In the event that you are killed during a trash pull, you are asked to release and run back into the raid instance. Do not wait until the trash pull is over expecting to be resurrected.
If other players do not realize that you have died and fail to buff you, send them a whisper to do so. Do not clutter up raid chat asking for buffs.
Leaving Raids Raid time is scheduled for a specific time. If something comes up or a player needs to leave the raid early, it is generally considered polite to inform an Officer. Retribution was founded on the principle that life comes before WoW time, however it raid attendance or personal issues become a problem for the raid, a players standing as an Eval or Raid Member may be compromised.
Raid Etiquette As a Raid Member or Eval, you are expected to show up to a raid prepared. This means that all reagents as well as flasks or special potions should be acquired before raid time. You should also ensure that you fully repair your gear and have enough gold on your character to fully repair at least twice.
If you would like to discuss a strategy we are using for a boss fight, the right time to do it is NOT during the fight. Arguing about a strategy is unacceptable. There are proper ways to suggest changes, arguing is not one of them and will not be tolerated.
Pointing fingers, negative comments, ignoring the raid leader or deliberate sabotage is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
Requests for cut gems, enchants or item enhancements should not be done during a raid.
Ensure that you are following the main assist. If you are unsure who is “MA” for a raid, ASK!
Vacations and Breaks Any Raid Member or Eval has the option to take a break from raiding or the game at any time. A courtesy message either in game or the forums is expected to be sent to an Officer as soon as possible.
Failure to Raid Raid Members that are online but refuse to raid on a scheduled raid night will be immediately demoted to member. Failure to raid on a consistent basis is grounds for removal from the guild.
Guild Bank Policy The guild bank is a storage area for all members to use. Most items in the guild bank can be taken for free or at a great discount. Any raid essential materials (flasks, elixirs, potions) can be purchased from any officer. If any other items wish to be purchased from the guild bank, please contact Evilwood or Bareass.
All items in the guild bank are not to be used for individual profit. Abuse of the guild bank will result in disciplinary action.
Guild Etiquette If any member of the guild, regardless of rank or time in the guild, has an issue they are expected to speak with an Officer. Conflict is expected to be handled maturely and constructively. If you are the recipient of abuse, please remember that screenshots are the only way to prove your side of the story. Any type of deliberate abuse to a guild member is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Retribution is home to many different people. Any type of racist remark is unacceptable and will be dealt with.
Outside of guild you are expected to conduct yourself with respect. You represent Retribution!
Applications to other Guilds An application to another guild is an official statement that you do not want to be in Retribution and you will be removed from the guild.
