I checked on your activity Fluff. I don't see anything unusual and your still with Ret. I also check the armory and your not naked so must have been the drunken chat with the BElf's

Do you mean it prompted you to change your pw or authenticator? Cause mine did that because i bounced around a few different IPs, but all i had to do was go to battle.net then confirm my email and reset my password
Nope, you were on a few weeks ago and I said Hi but you didn't do anything and signed off a bit later. I think you got some crafting achievement while on.
The new security measures in place by Blizzard function a lot based on IP Authentication (similar to commercial versions of RSA ect... actually might even be RSA since they are pretty much the industry leaders in Authentcation).
So the WoW servers basically monitor your behavior and create a norm key for you - your IP address, carrier, times you log, how often, how many times you mess up your password on average, do you check emails from them, and MANY more differnt variables) so if for any reason you do somthing it consideres "suspicious" it will lock your account. An example for me was when I moved and logging in from a new location. I am pretty sure that WoW probably only implements location based locks (IP).
If you have an authenticator from Blizz - I wouldnt worry about it - was proabbly a one time deal if you have not logged in a while as a security test. If it happens again, I would contact Blizz and be like "YO WTF?!" - and also get an autenticator if you dont have one.
