Guild Rules, Regulations and Important Info:
What is Retribution?
Founded upon the triune principles of family-type bonds, game enjoyment, and personal excellence, Retribution is a group of tight-knit people that seek to explore all aspects of World of Warcraft without a rabid devotion to all-night raiding and everyday zerg festivals. We will remain true to one another and to our mission of honing our individual skills to their very utmost so that we can advance through WoW with the satisfaction of knowing that advancement was earned through teamwork and shared spirit. We will always stress quality over quantity. We value people above loot. We value unity above self-aggrandizement. We value fealty above indifference. We value tactics above blind force. These are the values that we hold true.
Raiding
Retribution considers itself both a casual and raiding guild. Raid members and evals are required to put forth maximum effort when it comes to raiding, however all guild members are encouraged to work and communicate with each other to create an enjoyable experience.
Structure of Retribution
Evals:
-You are an applicant that is seeking membership as a Raid Member requiring you to complete an evaluation period. (NOTE: Not passing the evaluation process does not mean automatic expulsion from the guild.) -Your evaluation process will least at least 30 days, during which time you will be graded based on your skill, raid attendance and attitude. If any of these is an issue, your eval status can be terminated. -You are not permitted to have a raid-capable toon in another guild on the same server during your evaluation. -After at least 30 days or when your Class Leader has determined you have completed a sufficient amount of your evaluation, you will be put up for raid member vote. Each raid member will have the chance to vote for the eval to become a raid member, member, extend your evaluation status or expel you from the guild For any vote other than raid member, an explanation will need to be provided.
-A Class Leader has the option to override a vote as long as they have the support of at least two Officers, however if the overall guild consensus is to expel an eval, leadership cannot override it.
Monthly Dues and Expectations:
Raid members and evals are expected to mail one of the following to “Retfeast” each month: -40 Glacial Salmon -40 Musselback Sculpin -40 Nettlefish -20 Northern Spices
We also ask that each month you fill out a survey voicing your opinions about issue related to the guild. If there are issues with the guild, this is a perfect time for YOU to address them.
Monthly dues are expected by the 7th of each month.
Forum Access and Etiquette
Access to guild specific forums is only given to those that request it. Once you have joined the guild, log on to the forums and go to the “General” forum. Locate the post “Need Access?” post and reply to it with your in game name. All members are encouraged to participate on the guild forums, however a certain level of maturity is expected. Forum access is a privilege, not a right!

Guild Policy on Ventrilo
Ventrilo is a tool that we use to make raiding easier. Your access to vent is a privilege not a right. During raids a certain level of respect is expected of everyone in the channel. While talking and joking is encouraged, when it is time to buckle down and kill bosses keep quiet unless you NEED to say something germane to the raid.
Loot Distribution
Retribution uses a DKP loot system to determine who gets what loot. DKP is earned by showing up to a raid on time and staying for the full duration. Various bonuses are given out on a weekly or monthly basis and players can be awarded extra DKP for services to the guild that don’t fall under raiding.
When an item from a progression (25 Man) raid drops after a boss kill, the following will occur: 1: The Master Looter will show the item in raid chat or with a raid warning. Please keep raid chat to a minimum to prevent confusion! 2: Any person in the raid that wants the item is expected to simply type “IN” into raid chat. 3: The Master Looter and Officer will determine who gets the item. The player with the highest DKP will be given the item. In the event of a tie between players, the person with the highest earned DKP will be awarded the item.
Please keep in mind that loot priority is given in the following order: Raid Member>Eval>Member and Alt.
Evals are not allowed to spend more DKP then they have earned. If an item drops and an eval does not have enough DKP to obtain the item, they will not receive it.
DKP
DKP is awarded only to current content. Any “fun” or old content that we do on a raid night will not award DKP.
1 DKP is awarded for being on time to the raid (in zone 15 min prior to raid start). As long as you are either on your "main" raiding character or in vent you will receive your On Time Bonus (OTB).
1 DKP is awarded for staying until the end of the raid.
1 DKP is awarded for simply signing up for all three raids each week, regardless of how you sign up (In, Out, Leave Early or Late).
In order to prevent hording of DKP, we use a rolling 30 day DKP system. Any DKP earned will be lost in 30 days if not spent.
Cost of Loot
Loot from boss kills is grouped into several different categories each with a corresponding cost.
Current Raid Schedule
Please keep in mind that the raid schedule is constantly changing as new content is being pushed out. Raid members and evals are expected to NOT be saved to any raid that is currently on the schedule.
Our current raid schedule (In order of priority)
25 Man Ruby Sanctum 25 Man Icecrown Citadel
Guild members are encouraged to complete raid instances that are not on the raid schedule.
Current Raid Times
Monday: 9pm-12am Server Time Tuesday: 9pm-12am Server Time Wednesday: No Scheduled Raids. Attempt to form 10 man raids. Thursday: 9pm-12am Server Time Friday: No Scheduled Raids Saturday: No Scheduled Raids Sunday: No Scheduled Raids
Forming Raids
In order to assess our options on raid nights, we ask that all raid members and evals sign up for upcoming raids using the “Upcoming Events” forum.
Priority for raid invites will follow the same rules as loot: Raid Member=Eval>Member>Alt. Class Leaders may substitute a raid member of their class for an alt if there are no open raid spots.
If a player disconnects and cannot be contacted, they will be replaced. In the event that a player gets replaced due to technical difficulties and is later able to come back online, they must wait for an open raid spot before joining the raid. DKP will still be awarded as long as the system isn’t abused.
Raid Etiquette
As an eval, you are expected to show up to a raid prepared. This means that all reagents as well as flasks or special potions should be acquired before raid time. You should also ensure that you fully repair your gear and have enough gold on your character to fully repair at least twice.
If you would like to discuss a strategy we are using for a boss fight, the right time to do it is NOT during the fight. Arguing about a strategy is unacceptable. There are proper ways to suggest changes, arguing is not one of them and will not be tolerated.
Pointing fingers, negative comments, ignoring the raid leader or deliberate sabotage is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
Requests for cut gems, enchants or item enhancements should not be done during a raid.
Ensure that you are following the main assist. If you are unsure who is “MA” for a raid, ASK!
10 Man Raids
Posting in forums will let everyone know you would like to be included in the groups that are currently running the zone.
Guild Bank Policy
The guild bank is a storage area for all members to use. Most items in the guild bank can be taken for free or at a significant discount. Any raid essential materials (flasks, elixirs, potions) can be purchased from any officer. If any other items wish to be purchased from the guild bank, please contact Evilwood or Ticklebottom.
All items in the guild bank are not to be used for individual profit. Abuse of the guild bank will result in disciplinary action.
Guild Etiquette
If any member of the guild, regardless of rank or time in the guild, has an issue they are expected to speak with an Officer or Class Leader. Conflict is expected to be handled maturely and constructively. If you are the recipient of abuse, please remember that screenshots are the only way to prove your side of the story.
Any type of deliberate abuse to a guild member is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Retribution is home to many different people. Any type of racist remark is unacceptable and will be dealt with.
Applications to other Guilds
An application to another guild is an official statement that you do not want to be in Retribution and you will be removed from the guild.
